Save This

One of the themes that Bush will push tonight will be that of personal savings accounts as a solution to all our ills. From health insurance to social security, the Bush "plan" relies almost solely on the idea of giving Americans small tax breaks so that they can save money in order to buy health insurance and fund their retirement. However, as any study of American's personal savings habits will show you, we are lousy at it and getting worse. Not that it's all our fault. Current personal debt levels are rising so fast, who the hell can afford to put any money away?:
According to the most recent figures from the Federal Reserve Board, consumer debt hit $1.98 trillion in October 2003, up from $1.5 trillion three years ago. This figure, representing credit card and car loan debt, but excluding mortgages, translates into approximately $18,700 per US household.

Outstanding consumer credit, including mortgage and other debt, reached $9.3 trillion in April 2003, representing an increase from $7 trillion in January 2000. The total credit card debt alone stands at $735 billion, with the household card debt of those who carry balances estimated to average $12,000.
- - - -
There are already indications that the debt burden has become unmanageable for many families and individuals.

Conventional mortgage foreclosures in the third quarter of 2003 nearly equaled the record set in the early part of the year. The percentage of mortgage loans in foreclosure is expected to climb to 1.15 percent in 2003, versus 0.87 percent in 2000.

The American Bankers Association recently reported that credit card delinquencies, or missed payments, reached a milestone of 4.09 percent in November, and predicts that the delinquency rate in 2003 will rise to 4.34 percent from 4.08 in 2000. As credit card issuers bump up late fees and over-the-limit fees on card debt and shorten payment grace periods, fee income—the bulk of which comes from penalty fees—accounts for more than 30 percent of card-issuers’ profits, according to Bankrate.com. For many of the top issuers, it has reached 40 percent!
- - - -
The people affected “are not only low-income,” Jordan Goodman, author of Everyone’s Money Book on Credit and spokesperson for the Cambridge Consumer Credit Index, told reporters. “More and more middle-income and former higher-income—busted dot-commers, airplane pilots, programmers whose jobs have gone to India—have a lifestyle they can’t maintain anymore.”
Bottom line? The majority of people these savings plans will benefit are the wealthy. People who can afford to put money away and pay the high deductibles that come with these proposed health savings accounts. The rest of us, those working two jobs, those living from paycheck to paycheck, those with thousands of dollars on credit cards, will be left out in the cold - both when they get sick, and when they get old.

Hi, Fin, I was looking for where I could find more information on credit repair book and I came accross your real good blog Save This. A lot of people must feel like saving it! Keep it up! Now today, anything on credit repair book interests me and could help. Because when you're in debt up to your eyeballs and can't get credit for things, or afford what attorneys or so called pros want to do the job, you have to try to see what you can do yourself to clean up your credit report. Besides paying my bills on time, maybe someone has info to help me. I found one website credit repair book that looks like it might do the job and more, but I still would like a referral or two, because I want real results fast. You don't have to view the site and maybe you have some ideas to share for folks in my credit shape.

Hi, Fin I was looking for credit repair tips and I came accross your real good blog Save This! A lot of people must feel like saving it! Keep it up! Today I'm looking to see if I find anything better for to stop the robbing bank and credit card companies than credit repair tips. Because how important would it be for you to have this self help program which promises to raise your FICOs in 45 days, double credit limits, get more cards, slash payments or stop collection calls and stop bankruptcy, paying cards off at 73% discounts, or eliminate $25K of them 100% with TILA, and much more. Read on because there's more for you. Don't you feel that you deserve credit repair AND a 720 FICO score, too! So do I and you can see why I'm looking forward to checking anything on credit repair tips because it certainly could help find the best credit repair kit. And because when you're in deeply in debt and can't get credit or afford what attorneys or so called pros want to do the job, you have to try to see what you can do yourself. And doesn't it make sense, just like the FTC warns, for YOU to clean up your own credit report. You don't have to check my preference-site/blog and see the help you get for pennies, but maybe you could get excited enough about having better credit. And you don't have to keep track of me but you should because I can show you HOW TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE IN JUST 15 MINUTES IF you have an open mind at http://tinyurl.com/apxuo But, if you cannot believe or see your credit perfect, you'll never believe YOU can be a millionaire - or even a thousandaire in a hundred lifetimes!

I honestly must say this is one of the most useful blogs I have ever come across. I am not just saying that to butter you up! I am doing my thesis paper for my master degrees and spent the last 12 hours (and 10 cups of coffee) researching this area topic. So many blogs have generic information but yours is different. I can actually apply some of this information to my works. No worries I will give you credit in my references. I took it upon myself to add you to my favorites and will visit back to let you know how my grade ends up. Many thanks!consolidation debt help.info service.

I wonder when the troops will actually come. Yeah, like that will happen soon. I'm sure in sometime later than we think after the pipeline is done and the President stands to make a bunch of money. That is when. And it is not like he cannot yank back the soldiers and let the country heal itself. It should be just as easy as finding some sort of website about anything random, like after bankruptcy credit repair, and paying a little attenion to the topic. Ya know?

Hey!! Very nice blog :0) I just got inside from washing and waxing my truck. It is my baby. Took me 2 hours though. So I settled down into my basement and started doing some web surfing. Anyways I am in the process of grabbing my masters degree and have spent the last 6 months researching consolidation debt query service. In the midst of my surfing I landed smack dab in the middle of your blog. I hope you do not think I am intruding but I must say it is great blog. Even though your blog is way off base from consolidation debt query service I found myself cruising through your blog archives for the last half hour :0) You have some nice blogging friends. Anyways, I need to get back to my mission. I wrote dont your url and feel free to visit me here at http://www.debt-consolidationservices.com. I am so busy so I can only update my site monthly. Keep up the great work.

Well I just got back from karate lessons and I am so tired. I am currently doing some research for college and came across your blog. Which makes me laugh really. The internet can certainly bring you in the opposite direction. Even though your blog site is not completely related I think your doing a great job. I have read back through the archives and lots of people make some very valid points. Well I have been on-line forever it seems. I need to continue to plug away at federal debt consolidation service. If you have the energy swing by our site. I try to update my site weekly and maybe you will see something you like. I already snagged your URL and put it in my favorites. If you do not mind I will be back again. Great job! Sincerely federal debt consolidation service.

Debt consolidation loans can help you reduce your interest burden by charging an interest rate lower than the rate on your existing loans. Debt consolidation loan can also allow you to make small monthly payments by extending the loan period.

Saw your blog about debt management consolidation credit card - as it is along the same lines I thought I would share this link with you. We were paying far too much for family things like clothes for us and the kids, games consoles inc the new Wii and soon to be PS3, car insurance/home insurance/pet insurance, broadband, mobile phones, landline calls, home and garden items, camping equipment and utilities/loans etc - you name it, we were spending too much on it.

Then a friend of mine recommended a site called www.bargainplace.co.uk. We were able to get cheaper electricity, gas, mobile phone, broadband and loan deals at bargainplace. Thanks to my friend (and the site) I am saving something like £100 a month and can afford an extra holiday abroard each year. Booked of course on www.bargainplace.co.uk. Thanks bargainplace ;-) !!

Good blog - very interesting!! I liked it so much I'm going to share this hush hush advice with you. Ever wondered how your neighbours are driving around in their brand new BMW or Mercedes cars - with their kids dressed in all the latest named gear and foreign holidays aplenty?? Well they discovered the secret to the extra online income.

If you are looking for a free tool to attract loads of free links to your blog or website then congratulations I've got the solution for you - and it is FREE!!

My website specialises in california highway patrol and to drive traffic to my website I was searching around the internet for absolutely ages looking for SEO tools and ffa submission sites to fire my site up the Google search engine - unfortunately these doing work and in fact had the opposite affect plunging my site down the rankings like it had a heavy weight attached!!, then I signed up for this free superb traffic generating tool - I now have loads of hits to my websites/blogs and my site is shooting back up the Google rankings quicker than ever before.

Consequently this saw my affiliate commissions shoot through the roof - meaning lots of extra money coming in for my family - I bought my first Mercedes car on the proceeds of my online campaign.
Sign up now - it's free.
. Sorry if this information is of no use to you but seeing as you have the anonymous feature enabled I thought I should share this free bit of essential promotional advice with you and would hope you would do the same for me and others who want to boost their online internet income.

I hope the tool will serve you equally as well as it has me - it's free!!

Best of luck, cheers for now, dave.

Blog about denton texas home for sale

Hi

Enjoyed the blog - nice to see someone else has activated their anonymous feature ;-)

I'm interested in investing in the real estate market in the US and am looking for some really cheap repossession properties in Miami, Florida, California, New York, Washington, Dallas, Texas, Chicago and Los Angeles. I've found a couple of really good sites - Bargain network which has some really cheap homes and Texas Ranches for sale - ranches in Texas plus both sites have beachfront villas and cars that have been repossessed and are really cheap!! Just wondering if there are any more sites like this.

Thanks for this.

John
